NOTE: In Nagios Log Server 2024R2.0.3+, additional steps are no longer necessary to listen on privileged ports.

Simply configure a new Input for the desired port as usual to proceed.

Configuring Nagios Log Server Inputs

In older versions of Log Server, privileged ports below 1024 only allow the root user to listen on them. This document is intended for use by Nagios Log Server Administrators who would like configure Nagios Log Server to listen on ports below 1024 which are privileged in Linux. This can be useful if you have legacy devices that can only send on specific ports.
