There are several options available for installing Nagios XI:
Use a Nagios XI "pre-made" image (VMware VM, vSphere OVF Template or Microsoft Hyper-V VM: The CentOS VM images are the fastest way to get up and running with Nagios XI. The VMware image can be used in enterprise environments where VMware ESX, vSphere or other VMware server products are deployed. This option is most often chosen for initial testing, while the manual install methods are used for production installations.
Install Nagios XI manually: Use this option if you wish to install Nagios XI on a physical server (e.g. for performance reasons) or a virtual server running a supported Linux distribution. Options include a source installer for all supported OS', and RPMs for RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu. Both the source install and RPM options require internet access for both installation and upgrades.
Offline Install: If the server you wish to install Nagios XI onto is offline, or will be taken offline permanently after installation, use the offline install option for RHEL.
