The virtual machine images are not considered official distributions and only the Nagios Software contained within the image is an official distribution. We provide them to enable our customers to quickly bootstrap and evaluate our product. You are welcome to use our OVA in production if you like however we do not support the operating system nor any alterations to the underlying dependencies/components.
