Nagios XI: Status Summary Dashlets Showing Zero (How to Fix)
- Last Updated November 3, 2026
Purpose
This document describes how to repair issues with the Nagios XI database, when encountering zero values in the Host Status Summary or the Service Status Summary dashlets.
Identifying the Problem
After logging in to the Nagios XI web interface and you see either the Host Status Summary or the Service Status Summary dashlets displaying zero for all of the statuses (See screen shots below) it is most likely caused by a corrupted table in the MySQL database.

Repairing the Database
Nagios included a new script, beginning with XI 2024R1.2 to repair the MySQL database, which will fix the above issue.
Running this script can take up to an hour, which is normal. You will want to allow the script to fully complete. If it is interrupted, other issues with the database may develop and may not be repairable.
Make sure to run this script in a ssh session as root user, to clean and repair the MySQL database of temporary data and to stop the old processes that should not be running. The script stops and re-starts associated processes.
/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_crashed_databases.shConfirming the Fix
Wait 5–10 minutes after the script completes, then log back in to the XI interface and check whether the statuses are updating.
Still Seeing Zero Values?
If the dashlets still display zero for all statuses, open a case through the support portal so a support engineer can help resolve the issue.
