What Does the Configuration Wizard Look Like

Most configuration wizards allow you to select a host and create a hostname, then choose the services you wish to monitor. The Space Weather Configuration Wizard follows a similar process. First, you select a hostname, which will appear in your host list once the configuration is complete. You then choose the services you want to monitor.

This wizard gives you the flexibility to select the services that best fit your needs. Additionally, you can adjust the threshold settings if you’d like to modify the default values. For ease of use, there are “Select All” checkboxes that let you quickly select all services within a specific section.

Another feature of the Space Weather Configuration Wizard is the ability to monitor multiple locations for aurora forecasts, providing you with the percentage chance of auroras appearing in your area. You can either choose from a list of predefined locations or input custom locations using latitude and longitude coordinates. This makes tracking auroras near you both simple and efficient.

Adding and removing locations is easy with just a few clicks of the corresponding buttons. If you prefer to adjust preset locations, you can modify their latitude and longitude. Similar to other services, you can also customize warning and critical thresholds for aurora locations, allowing for more tailored monitoring.

What Happens After Running the Wizard

After running the wizard, a host will be created with the name you selected. You can then click into the host to view its services, where the values will begin to populate. Over time, graphs will be generated, allowing you to monitor space weather visually as well. Below is an example of what the services page may look like after the wizard has been run:
